Safe space and confidentiality
This platform is part of the Peer Networks "safe space," where members can share openly and learn from each other’s successes and challenges. To maintain this environment, members agree not to attribute comments to specific individuals or organizations without their explicit permission. Additionally, all discussions, documents, and materials shared within the network must remain confidential and not be disclosed or distributed outside the group without consent. Safeguarding the contributions and privacy of all participants is a shared responsibility. Members may, and are even encouraged to, share lessons learned outside the network but must not disclose sources without permission.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment where all members feel valued. Discrimination, harassment, or harmful behavior will not be tolerated. Members are expected to engage in good faith, practice empathy, and contribute positively to advancing the industry.

Antitrust
Antitrust is a serious issue with real legal risks. As a gathering of people from potentially competing companies, we have to take it seriously. Things we can’t talk about: pricing, sales terms, market shares, sales territories—basically anything that could be construed as teaming up to the detriment of our clients or other competitors. The network is a space for professional development, innovation, and idea exchange that strictly adheres to ethical and legal guidelines. Thanks for working with us to honor this and keep us all out of trouble!
Non-promotional:
This network is a space for learning, sharing, and collective growth—not for self-promotion or solicitation. Members agree to refrain from promoting their products, services, or businesses unless explicitly invited to do so in designated contexts. Contributions should prioritize the collective interests of the community over individual or organizational agendas.
-
Intellectual property
By participating in this network, members acknowledge and agree that any work, ideas, content, or contributions (“Work”) produced within the scope of the network’s activities will be fully and permanently transferred to Green Commons, which will steward the intellectual property on behalf of the network. Green Commons will steward and hold all copyright and associated rights to the Work, with a commitment to ensuring that intellectual property created within the network supports the collective mission while allowing members to derive non-commercial benefits from their contributions.
Members retain the right to use their contributions for non-commercial research or private study, provided such use does not conflict with the rights or mission of Green Commons. Members also grant Green Commons the right to edit, adapt, or alter their Work to suit the needs of the network or its initiatives. While individual contributions may not always be credited explicitly, Green Commons commits to ensuring that any changes to the Work align with the network’s goals and values.
The following principles guide us in our collaborations:
Sharing
We come together in person and online to support each other as peers and share knowledge, resources, experiences, and strategies.
Honoring Honesty
We operate in a “safe space” in which we honor each person’s contributions and commit never to attribute revealing information to a specific individual or firm without their explicit permission.
Inclusivity
We strive to create a community that welcomes and embraces all AEC firm sustainability leaders who share our passion.
Non-Affiliation
We set our own agenda. We’re not tied to any particular program and we embrace and support all initiatives that can help us achieve our goals, collectively and as individual leaders.
Curiosity
We are always learning and welcome creative disruption and new perspectives.
We’re motivated by our passion for:
Positive Impact
Individually and as a network we are a positive force in ensuring that the places we design and the products we specify cultivate regeneration, justice, and restoration of human and ecosystem health.
Advocacy
We use our collective voice in the building industry to advocate for the change we seek.
Urgency
We’re focused on immediate and effective action to address the intersecting crises in our climate, society, and ecosystems.
Leadership
We seek to raise the bar in our companies and for the entire building industry in pursuit of just, healthy, high-performing, and resilient places.
Justice
We’re committed to actions that address the needs and aspirations of communities that are challenged by historic and current inequities.
